It doesn't matter what you think. I'm sorry to be so blunt (you might even think I'm starting off a bit rudely), but I want to make it clear: art is healing. That is science. It is a fact, and you don't need to be an artist to heal through art. You don't need to be good at drawing, coloring, painting, or anything at all.

Every day you are making art. The moment you wake up in the morning, you start making choices that are artistic: you choose what you're going to wear, how you'll brush your hair, and whether you'll go out wearing socks or flip-flops. All these simple choices are part of the artistic nature of humans.

Sure, some of these choices seem to be related only to the practical use of clothes, you need to wear them to protect your skin and to follow society's rules and common understanding that walking around naked isn't okay. BUT, you add your own special art to every one of these practical tools and rules. The decoration, the color, the pattern, all of that is part of your human artistic nature, so yes, you are an artist.

Through art materials and activities, you can release or internalize different emotions and work through them without having to use too many words. Different symbols and topics will naturally emerge as you work with your hands. It works for all ages and all backgrounds, even for those who are currently in therapy, which can sometimes get exhausting, since you spend so much energy talking and planning, and it can feel frustrating not to feel like you're moving forward as much at times.

Each material has a different power and capability. Watercolor works in a way that clay cannot, and a brush can create a slight emotional distance while requiring more precision than holding a crayon and pressing it hard against a surface. All art is healing, all materials are special, and when you have guidance that goes beyond creativity, guidance with knowledge in therapeutic practice and art supplies, then you have the best combination to move into your self-growth and discovery.

As a small group or in a private setting, we can navigate, swim, and sometimes just float. Let's start something unique together.
