My life has taught me that addiction can take many forms.

Sometimes it looks like substances. Sometimes it looks like food, comfort, distraction, unhealthy relationships, or habits we continue even when they no longer love us back. I know what it means to lose myself—and I also know what it means to choose myself again.

That choice begins with love.

Loving yourself is not only about what you say when you look in the mirror. It is also about what you place inside your body, how you speak to your mind, and how gently you care for the vessel carrying you through this life.

You are water, so replenish yourself with living, water-rich foods.

You are earth, so nourish yourself with food grown from the earth.

You are light, so allow your body to receive the sun.

You are wind, so breathe—deeply, intentionally, and consciously.

Your body understands nature because your body is nature.

I think of the gut as our first brain. It is deeply connected to our emotions, energy, and overall well-being. When the gut is overwhelmed, the mind can feel overwhelmed too. If we want the brain in our head to think clearly, we must also care for the intelligence living within our bodies.

What we eat matters—but so does the energy surrounding it.

Speak love to yourself. Speak love over your food and the fluids you consume. Prepare them with gratitude and intention. When you pour love into what nourishes you, you are reminding your body that it is worthy of receiving love.

Speak love to your plants, too. Give them your attention and watch how abundantly they grow.

How you love your body and treat your mind sets the stage for every day of your life. Your choices do not have to come from punishment, shame, or the belief that you are not enough. They can come from devotion. They can say, “I love myself, so I choose what supports the person I am becoming.”

And as parents, our healing reaches far beyond us.

We are leaders of this world because we are raising its next generation. Our children are watching how we speak about our bodies, how we respond to stress, what we call nourishment, and whether we make space for ourselves to breathe.

When children see us loving ourselves, they learn that they are worthy of love too. When they see us care for our bodies, they begin learning how to care for their own. We do not have to model perfection. We simply have to model awareness, growth, and the courage to choose differently.

Let them see us drink the water.

Let them see us eat the fruit.

Let them see us stand in the sun, breathe deeply, move our bodies, forgive ourselves, and begin again.

Speak love. Be love. Treat yourself with love—and never forget to share that love with others.

That is how we nourish ourselves.

That is how we nourish our children.

And that is how we help nourish a new world. 💪🥰🥭🍓🍉
